5 Things That I Would Love to Change About My Business

This is the second part to my previous article about loving my job (business). First of all, I have the mindset of an entrepreneur and I have been like that for about 5 years now. I just never knew where to go. I found that I would have really no competition here and hey the cost is very low. I do all the work! lol

1. HEALTH - When I started out business and social networking online over four years ago, I wanted to do my part with bringing money into the household. (I was married at this time and had two small toddlers). This is why I decided to search for something online. I began with Melaleuca. I am sucker for better health and less chemicals. I am still the same way.

However, the cost is something I can't afford. In the near future I want to bring Melaleuca back into my home AND business for the health of my family and clients. It will enhance my business and set me apart from others. Not only that, it is another stream of good income. I made over $800 in my first month and a half with them. Move me to the big city and I would soar with these two right here.

2. EXPANSION - I really don't want to be here in teeny-tiny Vivian forever. I want to move eventually and take my cleaning with me. It is an awesome business because it really doesn't cost much. Basically I furnish the cleaning rags and I do buy soaps, because I refuse to use harsh chemicals.

3. MORE CLIENTS - I know that I can find more even in this small community. I go throughout North Caddo and I know that there are others who need a maid. It's just finding them!

4. GRANTS - I need to tap into some sort of first time small business owner grants. I am a single mom of three and I am also a full time student! SURELY there is something out there. I want to get this thorn in my side of a car (BLESSING TOO) paid off, so I can get my head above the water.

5. INSPIRATION - I thrive on others opinions, insight and inspiration! I have a hunger for good advice and constructive criticism because I want to be the best!

Building a business (any business) takes a lot of patience and hard work. I can write a book about everything from customer service to proper maid etiquette and then some.

I Do Love My Job... I Do Love My Job... I Do I Do I Dooo...

YES I am a toilet scrubber. I am VERY good at scrubbing toilets, taking out the trash, making beds, getting my elbows dirty and killing my back! One thing that I am NOT good at is working for someone else lol.

I learned in the (almost) two years that I have been cleaning houses that I just don't know if I can ever work a 9-5 again. Here is what I love about having my own maid service... 5 things!

1. FLEXIBILITY - yes! I have three kids, they have no father who is in their lives. That means it is VITAL that I am with them as much as possible! I am BLESSED to have my own cleaning business so that I am there when they are home!

2. MONEY - I am not quite there yet. I am barely making ends meet. However, if I could ever get to my goal of two houses a day, Mon-Fri I will be doing pretty good. Yes, it's a struggle, but hey I am in Vivian, Louisiana! lol When it all comes down to it, I am making about $25-30 an hour, because I clean like Taz!

3. PEOPLE - I LOVE to serve others and make their lives easier. I am a people pleaser! What better way then to help others have more time to spend doing things they love and the ability to spend time with family. Hey, it's hard working a full time job when you have a family.

4. MY OWN THING - I get to make my own hours and sometimes I take my kids to work. Hey, it can't get any better than that! I cannot stand day care. First of all, I cannot breathe in one because of the bleach! I am surely not going to make my kids stay there all day.

5. MOVE IT WITH ME - Hey if I move, it moves with me! If I ever move out of here (LOL)- some day in JESUS NAME, I can take it with me. In a big city, I can easily make $25 more per house, EASILY. Not to mention cleaning business offices. There is so much potential in this business.

After almost two years in this, with the help of Jesus (couldn't have done this without Him) I have good clientele and referrals. Needless to say, I wouldn't have it any other way. That is until I get my BS in Psychology ;) lol Then I will have a homeless shelter!

Everyone needs a maid, but not everyone has a good one ;) lol

Within the Walls of a Miracle!

If you have known me for the past few years, you know that I have had a consuming passion to see this church built. I recount the many days that we drove past our land and praised the Lord for the church He was going to plant on it.

Gradually over the next few years, we had dirt, then a cement slab and finally our beautiful church. This video will take you within the walls of a MIRACLE.

Please note that my pastor received a prophetic word over 20 years ago that he will get $100,000 to build a new church. Well that is what we started with when a local "angel" challenged us to raise $50,000. This $500,000 building was built on a vision, speaking faith, much prayer and a LOT of homemade peanut brittle making!

Eagles and Apple Trees

I am blogging about something rather unusual on this Sunday night. I mean it's not quite midnight, I am in the middle of folding clothes, but I felt like writing about something I have always thought was really neat.

I am very fascinated with eagles and their behaviors. The main thing that I want to talk about is whenever a female eagle searches for a mate, she has an extremely precise way of making sure that he is the right one.

First of all, eagles mate for life. They are faithful to one another, until the other dies. I thought that was pretty awesome. When she is trying to find a mate, the female will release rocks in the air to see how fast the male eagle will catch it. She repeats this over and over. He must be swift and precise. She does this because when she has babies, he will have to be able to catch them, should they fall.

They both share chores and take turns incubating the nest. I think that it is amazing how birds know to do exactly what humans should do as well.

It is the father's responsibility to protect his family. All women should have an eagle mentality when looking for a mate, especially one who already has children.

Remember ladies, it's not always you. Yes, continue to do your best and better yourself, but never let a man make you feel worthless. Be slow to give your heart and attentive to his actions. This is important. Remember that you are the apple that is on the top of the tree.

Girls are like
apples on trees. The best
ones are at the top of the tree.
The boys don't want to reach for
the good ones because they are afraid
of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they
just get the rotten apples from the ground
that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples
at the top think something is wrong with
them, when in reality, they're amazing.
They just have to wait for the right
boy to come along, the one
who's brave enough
to climb
all the way
to the top
of the tree.
